- Lillian Scott LAYMAN (daughter of Winfield Scott LAYMAN and Ora Ellen GARLITZ) was born on 22 Aug 1914 in Garrett Co., Maryland. She died on 10 Mar 1999 in Washington, D. C.. FROSTBURG - Lillian S. Auman, age 84, of 100 Honeysuckle Lane, Apt. 222, Frostburg, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at Georgetown University Medical Center. Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Winfield Scott Layman and Ora E. (Garlitz) Layman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Loy E. Auman; and three brothers. Mrs. Auman formerly was employed at the Celanese Fibers Corporation, and she was part owner of Mack's Service Station, Long Stretch. She was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Frostburg, where she belonged to the Methodist Women. She also attended St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Bowling Green, and belonged to the Ladies Guild of St. Matthew's. She was a member of the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are a daughter, Gladys Lashbaugh and husband, Wesley, Frostburg; two grandchildren, David Lashbaugh and wife, Diane, Mount Savage, and Tina McKenzie and husband, Anthony, Frostburg; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Lashbaugh and Terra McKenzie; a brother, Ralph Layman and wife, Mary, Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mount Zion United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Lightner and the Rev. Welch of St. Matthew's officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be George Mehaney and Richard Wilson. Memorials may be directed to the Mount Zion United Methodist Church or to the St. Matthew's United Church of Christ.
