Preceded in death by parents; husband, Francis Eugene “Pickles” Brode, who died April 16, 1969; sisters, Genieve Lapp; Edna Madison; and Helen Baker; and brothers, Francis, Eugene, Leroy, Harry and Irvin McKenzie. Survived by children, Mrs. Larry (Leona) Dively, Somerset; Francis Leon Brode, married to the former Mary Ellen Short, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Tom (Deborah) Stevens, Cumberland, Md.; and Mrs. Diana Cole, Moorefield, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Mrs. Mary McKenzie, Frostburg; Mrs. Carl (Alice) Albright, Frostburg; and Mrs. Mildred Middleton, Clinton Township, Mich. Member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Dr. Arthur Gotjen officiating. Interment Brode Cemetery. Contributions may be made to “In Touch” Hospice, 223 S. Pleasant Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
