- Mrs. Mary M. Monroe – Frostburg – Mrs. Mary McKenzie Monroe, 70, of RD 1, died Friday in Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland. Born in Gilmore Aug. 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Honora (Coleman) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Monroe. Mrs. Monroe was formerly employed as a practical nurse. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Midland, and the Sodolity of the church and the George’s Creek Senior Citizens. Surviving are one sister, Agnes B. Shoemaker, Gilmore, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Midland, by the Rev. William Dalton. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
