  Notes	Joseph Edward WERNER (son of John Ray WERNER and Rose FINZEL) was born about 1922 in Finzel, Garrett Co., Maryland. He died on 30 Oct 1969 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Joseph Edward Werner, 47, of RD 2, Frostburg, who was injured Saturday night in a two vehicle accident on U.S. Route 40 six miles west of Frostburg, died yesterday morning in Sacred Heart Hospital. State Trooper C. E. Loeber, who investigated, said the accident occurred at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Werner, driver of one of the vehicles, died at 7 a.m. yesterday in the local hospital. Police said a pickup truck with mobile welding equipment was being driven west on Route 40 by Lowell T. Merrill, 27, of RD 2, Grantsville, at a slow rate of speed. Trooper Loeber said Merrill was attempting a left turn onto the Green Lantern Road when Mr. Werner, also traveling west, rammed into the rear of the pickup truck. Born in Finzel, he was the son of Mrs. Rose (Finzel) Werner and the late John R. Werner. He was a member of the Finzel Volunteer Fire Company and was a veteran of World War II. Also surviving are his widow, Velma (McKenzie) Werner; three sons, Roger L. Werner and Larry J. Werner, both at home, and Victor J. Werner, Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, Cecil Werner and Nelson Werner, both of Frostburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Shockey and Mrs. Austin McKenzie, both of Frostburg. The body is at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where friends will be received after 2 p.m. today. A service will be conducted at Pocahontas United Church of Christ Sunday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev.
