- ECKHART - Harold E. Knepp, 78, of Eckhart, died Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born February 13, 1926, in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Philip and Bertha (Blocher) Knepp. He was also preceded in death by his son, Harold Knepp, Jr., and several brothers and sisters. He was retired from Kings Department Store, and for years was a construction worker. He was a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the 66th Panther Truck Division. Surviving are his wife, Mildred (Ryan) Knepp; two daughters: Joyce Troutman and husband, Robert, Eckhart, and Julie Crowe and husband, David, Cumberland; four grandchildren: Jack Rafferty, Jr., Miranda D. Crowe, Danielle Troutman, and David Crowe, Jr.; one brother, Bernell Knepp, and wife, Ruth, Berkeley Springs, WV; and one sister, Marguerite Noe, Cleveland, OH. His body will be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Memorial service will be conducted at the Eckhart Baptist Church at a later date, with Pastor Jerry Evens officiating. The Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W.
