FROSTBURG — James Edward Minnick, 88, of 12507 Carlos Road, Frostburg, died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born Sept. 18, 1910, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Edward R. and Annie (Blucher) Minnick. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes E. (Pfaff) Minnick, on Dec. 5, 1997; and a daughter, Judith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Minnick was a former coal miner and retired as a licensed boiler operator from Frostburg State University’s Maintenance Department. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Lowery, Carlos; a son, David Minnick and wife Carol, LaVale; two grandchildren, Lora Winebrenner and Matthew Combs; and two great-granddaughters, Ciara and Cenoa. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, PA, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be conducted at the Durst Funeral Home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
