He was baptized on 15 Jul 1849 in White Oak Reichard Lutheran Church, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. He died on 18 Dec 1927 in Greenville Township, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. Death certificate on file. Samuel Clark died at his residence at Pocahontas, on Sunday, December 18, 1927, after an illness of four months, of a complication of diseases. He was aged 80 years, 3 months and 28 days. In 1872 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Lyberger, daughter of Joseph and Susan Lyberger, who survives him. If he had lived until March, they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John McKenzie of near Pocahontas, and Mrs. Harry Yaist of Youngstown, Ohio; and three sons, Joseph Clark, of near Pocahontas; Daniel, Finzel, Md., and Peter, of Corriganville, Md. One daughter preceded him to the grave about ten years ago. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Hostetler Church of the Brethren on December 21st, of which church Mr. Clark was a life-long member. Rev. T. Rodney Coffman was the minister in charge. Interment was made at White Oak Cemetery with Undertaker J. L. Tressler in charge.
