- FROSTBURG – James Frederick McKenzie 76, (sic: hand written note on obit states James was 67 years old) of 206 Winners Lane, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Garrett County, he was a son of the late Joseph R. McKenzie and Delie (Meese) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a retired carpenter, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. Surviving are his widow, Margaret G. (Bowers) McKenzie; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Pfaff, of here; Mrs. Mary Ravenscroft, Potomac Park; Misses Veronica McKenzie and Susie McKenzie, both at home; eight sons, Lawrence McKenzie, Fort Ashby; Arthur McKenzie, Hollywood, Md.; John F. McKenzie, Eckhart; Charles McKenzie, Leo McKenzie and Marty McKenzie, all at home; Raymond T. McKenzie, Oldtown; Paul McKenzie, here; two sisters, Mrs. Edna McKenzie, Star Route, Frostburg; Mrs. Ella Urick, Somerset, Pa., and 11 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (No date nor newspaper source, but Find a Grave gives March 1978 as dod)
