McKenzie of Resh Hill Road died Thursday, June 5, 1997 as the result of a dead tree branch falling and striking him in the head and neck area at a job site on Durst Road. He was a self-employed timberman and a member of the Meadow Mountain Mennonite Church. Patrick was born June 8, 1941, in Frostburg, a son of Vergie Gertrude (Garlitz) McKenzie and the late Dayton A. McKenzie. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother Dalton Anthony McKenzie. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Otto) McKenzie; one son, Daniel Ray McKenzie, Grantsville; one stepson, Roy Dale Otto, Friendsville; two daughters, Rosie Mae McKenzie, Accident, and Tammy Marie Nine, McHenry; one stepdaughter, Esther Kathryn Clemons, Oakland; six brothers, John William McKenzie, Francis Bryan McKenzie, Julius Edward McKenzie and Harold Joseph McKenzie all of Grantsville, David Larry McKenzie, Oakland, and Norman Alfonsus McKenzie, Friendsville; one sister, Agnes Yutzy, Swanton; and two step-grand-sons. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A service was conducted at the Meadow Mountain Mennonite Church on Sunday June 8, with the Rev. Duane Frederick officiating.
