FROSTBURG — Mabel M. Fisher, 86, formerly of Frostburg, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at BelForest Nursing Home, Forest Hills. Born in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Blanche (Crowe) McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Fisher. Mrs. Fisher retired from Super Shoes in 1973. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was a member of the Sodality, Third Order of St. Francis, SS. Peter and Paul’s, Frostburg Homemakers and Frostburg Church Women United. Surviving are one daughter, Dolores F. Kerseh, Jarrettsville; one son, John R. Fisher and wife, Mary Lee, New Albany, Ind.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three sisters, Grace Krumbine, Pomona, Calif.; Pearl Logue, Baltimore; Genevieve Schaffer, Pomona. The body has been donated to the Anatomy Board of Maryland. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 18. at 11 a.m. with Father Paul A. Byrnes as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Frostburg Village Nursing Home or to St. Michael’s Church Building Fund.
