- Otto Cannon, 57, of 205 Knox street, died last night after a brief illness in Memorial Hospital where he was admitted last Friday. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Cannon, he was born at Rawlings and had lived in Cumberland almost his entire life. Mr. Cannon was a member of the First Baptist Church and Fort Cumberland Post No. 38, American Legion, and was employed as a baker at the Home Bake Shop. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanche M. (Lease) Cannon; three daughters, Miss Pauline Gladys Cannon, at home; Mrs. Tola Elisabeth Scarlett, Brooklyn, Md., and Mrs. Helen Zeman, Baltimore; and four sons, Blondell Irvin Cannon, Richmond, Va.; Sgt. Elwood Cannon, Port Leonard Wood. Mo.; Pvt. John W. Cannon, Jefferson Barracks, Mo., and Pvt. Alfred Cannon, Ft. Blanding, Fla. Four grandchildren also survive. The body is at the Kight Funeral Home.
