FINZEL - Edgar Allen Lotz, 87, of Finzel Road, Finzel, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Saint Vincent dePaul Nursing Center, Frostburg. Born Oct. 22, 1916, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Henry W. Lotz and Grace C. (McKenzie) Lotz. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lotz, Leroy "Bussy" Lotz and Harold Lotz; and two sisters, Emily Rice and Gladys Twigg. Mr. Lotz was retired from the Kelly Springfield Tire Co.'s shipping department. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Pa., Cumberland Moose 271, charter member, chaplain and auxiliary police member of the Eastern Garrett County Vounteer Fire Company, and co-founder of the Easter Garrett Community Park. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Agnes (Finzel) Lotz; two sons, Kenneth Lotz and wife Sandra, Frederick, and Dale Allen Lotz, Frederick; a daughter, Lee Anna Lewis and husband James, Frederick; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, George Lotz, Fairmont, W.Va., John Lotz, Ocachobee, Fla., Howard "Scootie" Lotz, Connecticut, and Frankie Lotz, Mineral Wells, Texas; one sister, Gracie Lepley, Mount Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pocahontas, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father Albert J. Anselmi as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Department or to the WMHS Home Hospice, c/o Linda Valentine, 921 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502.
