- Mount Savage – Mrs. Emily F. Rice, 77, of Foundry Row, died Saturday at her residence. Born in Mt. Savage June 10, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Grace McKenzie) Lotz. Her husband, Bradley T. Rice, died in 1955. A former employee of the Allegany County Infirmary, she was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church and Daughters of America. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Cora Carter, with whom she resided; one son, Harry T. Rice, Mount Savage; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Twigg, Oldtown; and Mrs. Grace Lepley, Mount Savage; eight brothers, George Lotz, Fairmont, W.Va.; Edgar Lotz, Finzel; John Lotz, Okeechobee, Florida; Robert Lotz and Howard Lotz, both of Cannan, Conn; Harold Lotz, Hyndman, Pa.; James Lotz, Mineral Wells, Texas; and Leroy Lotz, Cresaptown; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in St. George’s Episcopal Church, Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Harold Bishop. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials take the form of contributions to St. George’s Episcopal Church. Cumberland Sunday Times, Sunday, July 5, 1987
