- Angela Marie Robeson (Connell J.-4, Gertrude MCKENZIE-3, Jeremiah James-2, John M.-1) was born on 17 Feb 1951 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 20 Apr 2011 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. GRANTSVILLE — Angela Marie Robeson, 60, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born Feb. 17, 1951 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Martha D. (Clark) Robeson and the late Connell J. Robeson. Ms. Robeson worked at Flushing Shirt Factory and was Catholic by faith. Surviving, besides her mother, is one son, Richard Wiland and fiancée Tammy Whelan, Westernport; two daughters, Connie Guthrie and husband, James, Grants-ville, Candy Wiland and companion J.R. Gordon, Mount Savage; four brothers, Connell Edward Robeson and Michael Francis Robeson, both of Cumberland, Tracy Lee Robeson, Killeen, Texas, Francis Allen “Robine” Robeson, LaVale; three grandchildren “who were the love of her life”, Jeremiah and Kayla Guthrie and Samantha Wiland. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Agnew officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to her two favorite doctors, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Zaman, with whom she would always joke which one was her favorite. We also thank her special friends, Lillian Guthrie for being there for her and to taking her wherever she needed to go and to Judy Faidley for just being there. Also the family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Schwab Family Cancer Center, Angela always kept the girls on their toes. She loved them all and to Deb (secretary), “make sure you feed the rat”. Angela also enjoyed watching her favorite show, “Days of Our Lives” and going to town, whether it be to Wal-Mart or wherever it may be and wearing her jewelry, of which she had quite a collection, especially more than 100 pairs of earrings. Every summer mother enjoyed planting a garden, especially her favorite flower, red geraniums and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She also enjoyed swimming with her grandchildren, feeding the ducks with her granddaughter and riding the 4-wheeler with her grandson. She was very well liked by all that she met and no one ever had a bad word about her. A mother’s love is something that no one can explain. It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish and enduring, come what may, for nothing can destroy it or take that love away. I have a garden within my soul of marvelous beauty rare, wherein the blossoms of all my life bloom ever in splendor fair. After years I now can see, amid life’s roses and rue, God’s greatest gift to a little child, my darling mother, was you. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Schwab Family Cancer Center. Cumberland Times-News, April 21, 2011
