He died on 24 Aug 1968 in LaVale, Allegany Co., Maryland. John Robert Lancaster, 63, of 398 McHenry Street, LaVale, died at his home yesterday following a brief illness. Born in Mt. Savage, August 20, 1905, he was a son of the late George W. and Susan (McKenzie) Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was stationary engineer at Miners Hospital, Frostburg. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Georgiana (Brockey) Lancaster; two sons, Robert G. Lancaster, Pittsburgh, and Raymond F. Lancaster, LaVale; one daughter, Miss Sharon Ann Lancaster, at home; four brothers, James, Gilbert and Raymond Lancaster, all of Mt. Savage, and Gerald Lancaster, LaVale; four sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Dickey, Meyersdale, Pa.; Miss Hilda Lancaster, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Mary Crites, LaVale, and Mrs. Margaret Wagner, Fairgo, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home today at 8 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.D. Robinson, Thomas Lancaster, Daniel Lancaster, Gilbert Lancaster, John Cullen and Paul Brockey.
