He died on 15 Jan 1966 in Martinsburg, Berkley Co., West Virginia. FROSTBURG — William F. Lancaster, 71, Mt. Savage, died Saturday in the Baker VA Center at Martinsburg, W. Va., where he had been admitted December 27. A native of Wellersburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Susan (McKenzie) Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillian (McKenzie) Lancaster; two daughters, Mrs. James L. Catherman Sr., Frostburg, and Mrs. Henry M. Snyder Sr., Mt. Savage; five brothers, James E., Raymond and Gilbert Lancaster, all of Mt. Savage, and John R. and Gerald Lancaster, both of LaVale; four sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Dickey, Meyersdale, Pa.; Miss Hilda Lancaster, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Mary Crites, LaVale, and Mrs. Margaret Wagner, Fairgo; and four grandchildren. The body will be at the Durst Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church by Rev. Michael Smyth, pastor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by members of Old Rail Post 6025 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Pallbearers will be Thomas Hughes, Thomas Kilduff, Edward Carter, Carl Mulligan, Donald Rice and Joseph Reagan. The rosary will be recited today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
