- LONACONING — Mrs. Mildred R. Tipton, 57, of here, died today in Frostburg Community Hospital. A native of Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (McKenzie) Garlitz. Her husband, Samuel Tipton, preceded her in death. Mrs. Tipton was a member of the Lonaconing Senior Citizens and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Delma Tipton, at home, and Mrs. James A. Rae, Vale Summit; four sisters, Mrs. Alma Durst and Mrs. Freida Minnicks, both of Moscow; Mrs. Beulah Hetz, Avilton; and Mrs. Shirley Mason, Frostburg; seven brothers, Roy Garlitz, Harry Garlitz, Herbert Garlitz, and Albert Garlitz, all of Avilton; Julius Garlitz, and Patrick Garlitz, both of Frostburg, and Ira Garlitz, Eckhart; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial wi!l be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Avilton. The Cumberland Evening Times, March 13, 1975.
