Notes	William Burton Garlitz, 61, Avilton, died Wednesday in Allegany Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Avilton, he was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Mayhew) Garlitz. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by five sons: Roy, Harry, and Ira, of Avilton; Julius and Patrick, both of Frostburg; Miss Alberta Garlitz, Avilton; Mrs. Mildred Tipton and Mrs. Beulah Hetz, both of Lonaconing; Mrs. Alma Durst, Washington; and Misses Shirley and Freda Garlitz, at home, and eleven grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 11 a. m. tomorrow at the home, with interment in Avilton Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, March 17, 1950.
