Midland – A requiem Mass for Leo McKenzie, 85, Gilmore, who died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church here. Mr. McKenzie is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles Beeman, Gilmore; Mrs. Ben Shoemaker, and Mrs. Joseph Monroe, both of Washington, and three sons, Robert McKenzie, Gilmore, Joseph Mckenzie, Washington, and Bernard McKenzie, Berea, Ohio. He also leaves a brother, James McKenzie, National Highway; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Miller, Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Rachel Miller, Somerset, Pa., 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Coleman McKenzie, 53 years old, a native of Dan's Mountain, this county, and a resident of that section all her life, wife of Leo. W. McKenzie, who died at her home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Beeman, Gilmore, tomorrow morning at 9:15 o'clock with services at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph's Catholic church, Midland, with Rev. Joseph Brennan officiating. Burial will be Belevedere cemetery. The Eichhorn mortuary, Lonaconing, is in charge. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of the Midland parish practically all her life and was the daughter of the late William and Martha Coleman. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Beeman, and Agnes and Mary at home; four sons, William, R. F. D. No, 1, Cumberland; Joseph, Gilmore; Robert and Bernard at home; one brother, Robert Coleman, Frostburg, and one sister, Mrs. John Savage of Frostburg. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 26, 1929

Gilmore, Jan. 20 - Mrs. Eleanor (Thrasher) Blubaugh McKenzie, 76, wife of Leo McKenzie, this place, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Parks, 164 East Main street, Frostburg. She had been ill four weeks. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thrasher, she had been a resident of Gilmore for the past 14 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland. Both she and her present husband were married twice. Surviving besides her husband are four daughters, Mrs. John Fazenbaker, Gilmore; Mrs. Elizabeth Burkholder, Jenners, Pa.; Mrs. Ruth Clark, Ligonier, Pa.; Mrs. Mary Parks, Frostburg; six sons, Joseph A. Blubaugh, seaman second class with the Navy in Bermuda; Jacob Blubaugh and John F. Blubaugh, Gilmore; James A. Blubaugh, Loartown; Chester A. and Harry Blubaugh, both of Cresaptown. Also surviving are the following step-children: Mrs. Mattie Beeman, Gilmore; Mary and Agnes McKenzie, Washington, D. C.; Robert McKenzie, Gilmore; Joseph McKenzie, Frostburg; and Bernard McKenzie, Cleveland, O.; a brother, Enoch Thrasher, Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Metcalf, Westernport; Mrs. Ruth Lancaster, Rawlings; 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
