GRANTSVILLE — Joseph T. McKenzie, 76, died yesterday at Miners Hospital, Frostburg. A native of Garrett County, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Ellen (Christner) McKenzie. His wife, Anna (Swartz) McKenzie, preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, William J. McKenzie, Frostburg; daughter, Mrs. Teresa Garlilz, Lonaconing; a brother, Jacob McKenzie, Frostburg; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Baker and Mrs. Lela Robison, both of Frostburg; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Ann's Church, Avilton, where a requiem mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. Rev. Fabian Kekich, OFM, Cap. will be celebrant and interment will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the Newman Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. The rosary will be recited there tomorrow at 8:30 p. m. Joseph T. MCKENZIE (John L.-3, Samuel J.-2, John M.-1) was born about 1890 in Garrett Co., Maryland. He died on 20 Dec 1966 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. Joseph T. McKenzie, 76, Grantsville, died Dec. 20 at Miners Hospital, Frostburg. A native of Garrett County, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Ellen (Christner) McKenzie. His wife, the former Anna Swartz, preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, William J. McKenzie, Frostburg; a daughter, Mrs. Theresa Garlitz, Lonaconning; a brother, Jacob McKenzie, Frostburg; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Baker and Mrs. Lela Robinson, both of Frostburg; also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Requiem mass celebrated at St. Ann's Church, Avilton, on Friday morning, by Rev. Fabian Kebich, OFM, Cap. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 29, 1966.
He was buried in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Avilton, Garrett Co., Maryland.
