Emma MCKENZIE (John L.-2, Samuel J.-1) was born about 1884 in Garrett Co., Maryland. She died on 7 Dec 1961 in Meyersdale, Summit Township, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania. GRANTSVILLE — Mrs. Emma Younkin, 77, of here, died yesterday in Meyersdale (Pa.) Community Hospital. She had been in ill health five years. A native of Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Christner) McKenzie. Her husband, Milton Younkin, preceded her in death. Mrs. Younkin was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rozella Long, Baltimore, and Sister Eileen, St. Therese's Hospital, Waukegan, Illinois; two brothers, Jacob, Frostburg, and Joseph McKenzie, Lonaconing; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Baker, Frostburg, and Mrs. Eleleh Robison, Lonaconing, and two grandchildren. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church by Rev. Conrad Raffel. Burial will be in Grantsville Cemetery. The body is at the residence, where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 8, 1961.
