Notes	Death Notes: 25 Oct 2002, Edmonton Journal MELNYK, Walter Thomas -- On October 23, 2002, Walter Thomas Melnyk, recently of Sherwood Park, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 with his loving family present. Walter was formerly from Edmonton, Alberta. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and as he would say, "Don't weep, don't grieve, don't sob. I have found better job - I have only gone fishing." Walter is survived by his loving wife, Lucille, of 58 years; his three daughters, Karen Adele Powlusko (Larry Virgil), Lynda Katheryn Flotten (Brian Donald), and Susanne Lee Tracey (Copeland George), and his only son, Richard Walter Melnyk (Deborah Inez). He leaves his seven grandchildren, Jason Larry Powlusko, Jayne Alexandra Powlusko, Casey Lars Flotten, Zachary Asante Tracey, Benjamin Richard Melnyk, Rhiannon Deborah Melnyk, and Joshua Aaron Melnyk. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Solemnia Melnyk and two sisters, Antonette (as a baby) and Anne Kraisosky (Nick). Walter's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Trent Dusang, the Home Care personnel, and Catherine Biggs for their incredibly compassionate and sensitive care throughout. Celebration of life October 28 at Appel Funeral Home, Edmonton.
