  Notes	FROSTBURG — Evelyn P. McKenzie, 73, of West National Highway, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born March 17, 1924, in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Barbara (McKenzie) Raley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bill” McKenzie, on March 14, 1996; and numerous sisters and brothers. Mrs. McKenzie was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and a Frostburg Village Nursing Home volunteer. Surviving are one son, John W. McKenzie, Jr., and wife, Linda, Frostburg; two daughters, Barbara Martin and her fiance, Victor Werner, Finzel, Nancy Carpenter and husband, John, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Melissa Kenney and husband Mark, Scott Carpenter and fiancee Amber, Jennifer Yoak, Kristi Carpenter and Laura McKenzie; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Kristi Yoak, and Derrick Carpenter; one sister, Dorothy Arnold, Finzel; and two special sisters-in-law, Thelma Ralev and Jean Raley. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Paul A. Byrnes as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Michael’s Church or to the Eastern Garrett Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. The Cumberland Times-News, February 14, 1998
