- SALISBURY, Pa. - Cobey L. McKenzie, 75, of RD 1, Salisbury, died Friday at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Oscar and Bessie (McKenzie) McKenzie, and a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Grantsville. He was a retired self-employed carpenter. He is survived by his widow, Rena (Minnick) McKenzie; one son, Kenneth McKenzie, Frostburg; five step-sons, William Brant, Adelphi, Md., Chester Brant, Beltsville, Ervin Brant, Lonaconing, Robert Brant, Laurel, Md., and John Brant, Frostburg; three daughters, Mrs. Mary-Margaret Ward, Frostburg, Mrs. Maxine Bond, Frostburg, Mrs. Cheryl Garvey, Laurel; three step daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Rush, Frostburg, Mrs. Juanita Tuck, Salisbury, Mrs. Darlene Bone, Frostburg; two brothers, Martin McKenzie, Cumberland, and Jonas McKenzie, Oakland; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bridges, Mount Savage, 32 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Friday. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday in the funeral home with Father William Moody officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. The rosary will be recited Friday at 8:30 pm. in the funeral home.
