Frostburg, July 11 — Details of the death of Sgt. Harry T. McKenzie, son of Mrs. Inez McKenzie, Route 2, Frostburg, were received recently from Lieut. Col. Stephen P. Kenney, Army Corps chaplain. He told Mrs. McKenzie her son died of injuries received in a truck accident in Holland. He met his death, the letter stated, about ftve o'clock in the afternon of April 18, 1945. He and another man left the unit area in a truck for assignment in connection with their duties. The following morning they had not returned. A search party was dispatched to cover the roads the men would have traveled. The wrecked truck was located but there was no trace of the two men. Every hospital in the area was contacted. In the course of this checkup it was learned that Sgt. McKenzie had succumbed at a military hospital, where he was taken after the accident. The Rev. Father Kenney stated that no details of the accident have so far been ascertained. He informed Mrs. McKenzie that her son was buried April 23 in a single grave which was blessed prior to his interment, in a military cemetery, near Margraten, Holland, with the complete burial rites of the Catholic church. Before his induction into military service, McKenzie was employed by the Frostburg branch of the Potomac Edison Company. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 11, 1945
