He died on 2 May 1957 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. Frostburg - Peter McKenzie, 70, died at his home in Garrett County near the Johnson Church on U. S. Route 40, this morning following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Francis and Sarah (Garlitz) McKenzie. His wife, Dora (Caton) McKenzie, preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Esco Garlitz, Frostburg, and Miss Jennie McKenzie, at home; five sons, Dayton McKenzie, Grantsville; Francis, Ralph and Stanley McKenzie, all of Loraine, Ohio; Dallas McKenzie, at home; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Robison, Cumberland, and 14 grandchildren. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. The CUmberland Evening Times, May 2, 1957

Frostburg - A requiem mass for Peter McKenzie, 70, who died yesterday at his home on Route 40, will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avilton. Pallbearers will be Howard, Maynard, Stanley and Albert McKenzie, Bernard Minnick and Melvin Garlitz. The Cumberland Evening Times, May 3, 1957.
