Born June 13, 1895, in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Gartletz) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; three brothers; and a sister. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Margaret Illmer of Ligonier and Mrs. Thomas (Althea) Faley of Harrisburg; and six grandchildren. She was a sister of Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Diest of Berlin; Mrs. Pauline O'Brien of Akron, Ohio; and Mrs. Beatrice Engleka of Grafton, W. Va. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Father Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. The Republic, December 21, 1978 Per the research of Ray Leidinger, she and her husband were married in St. Patrick's Catholic Church by Andrew J. Conlon, asst. pastor.
