- Lonaconing – Clarence V. McKenzie, 65, died early today at his home following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Marcellus and Rebecca (Garlitz) McKenzie. A coal miner. Mr. McKenzie formerly resided in Avilton. He was a member of Local No. 7768, UMW, and attended St. Ann’s Church, Avilton. Surviving are his wife, Sarah (Dunn) McKenzie; a son, Clarence “Bill” McKenzie; a daughter, Mrs. Wilda Dawson; a stepson, Clarkson Dunn; a sister, Mrs. Rella McNamara and two brothers, Urban and Arthur McKenzie, all of Lonaconing.
