Elmer Charles (Tabby) MCKENZIE (James McClelland-3, Ambrose G.-2, John M.-1) was born in 1889 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. He died on 17 May 1964 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. MT. Savage — Elmer C. McKenzie, 75, died yesterday at Miners Hospital where he was admitted April 26. He was a self-employed barber and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church here. Born in Sand Patch, Pa., he was a son of the late James and Rebecca (Bolden) McKenzie. His wife, Nellie (Poorbaugh) McKenzie, preceded him in death. He is survived by five sons: Reford McKenzie, here; Anthony W. McKenzie, Cumberland; Melvin McKenzie, Gary, Ind.; Theodore McKenzie, Silver Spring, and Arthur McKenzie, Frostburg; two daughters, Mrs. Leona Maley, here; Mrs. Kathleen Jones, Silver Spring; three brothers, Herbert McKenzie, here; James McKenzie, Berea, Ohio, and Augustus McKenzie, Wellersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Blank, here; Mrs. Via Zurbuch, Akron, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited there today at 7:30 p.m. The CUmberland News, May 18, 1964 He was buried in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland.
