- Mrs. Clara McFarlane, 72, widow of William R. McFarlane, former postmaster at Rawlings, died early this morning in Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since July 31. She was a resident of Flintstone. A native of Cresaptown, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Greenwade) McKenzie and a member of the Methodist Church at Rawlings. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna Ellis and Mrs. Clara Paulus, city; four sons, James E. and Samuel E., both of this city; David McFarlane, Rawlings, and Arch McFarlane, Flintstone; a sister Mrs. Maggie Miller, of Washington; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the Kight Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. Interment will be in the Bier Cemetery, Rawlings. The casket will be opened a short time at the cemetery.
