obit: Joseph F. McKenzie, 67, of Cresaptown, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital where he was admitted May 26. A native of Cresaptown, he retired in 1950 as an employe of the Celanese Corporation of America at the Amcelle plant where he had been supervisor in the preparation department. His parents were the late George J. and Mary (Hershberger) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a member of Cresaptown Aerie 2883 Eagles; Frostburg Lodge 470 Elks; the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department, St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the Cresaptown parish. Surviving are his widow, the former Zella Winters; a son, Joseph Leroy McKenzie, Claremont, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Hinds, Cresaptown; six brothers, Leo, James, Melvin and George McKenzie, Cresaptown; William McKenzie, Spring Gap; Francis S. McKenzie, Miami; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Harmison, Cresaptown; and four grandchildren. The body is at the residence. A requiem mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church by Rev. Carol Warner, pastor. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. The Cumberland Evening Times, June 13, 1955.
