  Notes	CUMBERLAND — Raymond E. Leidinger Sr., 86, of Cumberland, died on Sunday, May 23, 2010. Born Nov. 28, 1923 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George P. Leidinger and Ruth C. (Fletchinger) Leidinger Fletcher. Mr. Leidinger was a veteran of World War II. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Dec. 7, 1941. He served on the U.S.S. Patoka in the South Atlantic and as the naval attaché at the American embassy, Montevideo, Uruguay. He retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was a life member of Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion; life member of Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars; member of Voiture 164, 40 and 8; Charter member of Victor Tambello Post 1712, Catholic War Veterans; life member of the National Chief Petty Officers’ Association; life member of Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles; and until recent years, an active member of the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bernadette V. (Hoenicka) Leidinger; a son, Ray Leidinger Jr., Baltimore; a daughter, Veronica L. Eagan and husband Gary, and a grandson and “best bud”, Garrett R. Eagan, all of Cumberland; two sisters, Dorothy L. Gordon and husband Elison, Middle Granville, N.Y. and Dr. Virginia L. Brown, South Glens Falls, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews; and, his faithful companion, Shadow. There will be no visitation. The funeral service and interment will be private.
