		Equity Case 734 Allegany County, Maryland In 1848 a Complaint was filed in the Court of Equity of Allegany County, Equity Case 734, Maryland by the brothers and sisters of Moses McKenzie (d. 1838) (who died intestate in Wheeling, Virginia, now West Virginia), son of Moses McKenzie (b. 1760), requesting that a parcel of land (known as the “Western Road”) owned by Moses Jr. be equitably partitioned and the proceeds distributed amongst Moses’ brothers and sisters. This was the same parcel of land that was conveyed to Moses McKenzie (1760) by Daniel Shriver, Jr. on September 13, 1812 and otherwise referred to in that deed as the “Western Road” property. The case lists all of Moses’ (d. 1838) brothers and sisters (who were alive in 1848) and their spouses and siblings where applicable. The Equity Case file consists of twenty plus pages of material including interrogatories to then living people asking them about Moses McKenzie (b. 1760) and his children.

Notes	George and Susanna are reflected in the 1860 Census with their children: John W., age 21, George H., age 19, Joshua F., age 17, Samuel S., age 15, Susanna, age 12, Nicholas, age 10, Mary E., age 7, Sarah A., age 4 and Enoch, age 2. Allegany County, Maryland, 6th District, page 193. The family was living next door to Elizabeth Winters McKenzie, George Henry's mother. George Henry MCKENZIE was born in 1814. He died on 1 Aug 1872. Samuel Sampson McKenzie's parents were George Henry McKenzie (1814-Aug 1, 1872) son of Josua McKenzie and Elizabeth Winter and Susanna McKenzie (8 Mar 1815 - 19 Mar 1890) daughter of Samuel McKenzie and Rachel Durbin. (but I don't have death notices or obits to prove these. George and Susanna are both buried at St. Patrick'a Cemetery Cumberland. They are third cousins...I think.
