He is survived by two sisters, Betty Groft, of Meyersdale; and Shirley Paul, of Meyersdale RD 3. He was a member of the White Oak Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose. WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Edward "Sandy" Brent Dyche, 79, of Wiley Ford, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born March 27, 1939, Mr. Dyche was the son of the late Woodward Dyche and Helen (Crosby) Dyche. A graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1957, Sandy attended Fairmont State College for two years and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving six years in the reserves. Being an avid sports fan, Sandy followed all the local football teams and enjoyed running. Sandy was one of the original members of the Queen City Striders Running club. He was an animal lover always feeling the need to rescue hurt or homeless cats and dogs. Sandy was employed at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company for 25 years and went onto work at the Department of Juvenile Services retiring in 2001. Sandy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Dyche; his sons, Tim Dyche; Todd Dyche and wife, Suzi; his daughter, Tracy Fazenbaker; his grandchildren, Alex and Ethan; and his great grandchildren, Falon and Jeremy. He also leaves behind his brothers, Pat Wells, Terry Wells and wife, Loretta; his sister, Ann Combs and husband, Gregg; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon. A funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Gary Barkley officiating. WILEY FORD, W.Va. — Bruce Brinton Jacobs, 75, of Wiley Ford, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at UPMCWestern Maryland. Born Jan. 23, 1946, in Cumberland, Mr. Jacobs was the son of the late Lewis C. Jacobs and Eva May (Brinkman) Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis 'Fred' Jacobs. Bruce was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1964. He served with the U.S. Army Reserves. Bruce retired from the Cumberland Chessie System Railroad with 41 years of service. He drove for the Allegany County Board of Education for 43 years. He had a passion for the students he transported and was appreciated by many. He was an avid football fan of Fort Hill High School. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their sports. He was also a Washington Redskins fan and West Virginia Mountaineers fan for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gathering at reunions. He is a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathy Jacobs; his sons, Travis Jacobs and wife, Shay, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Devin Jacobs, Wiley Ford; his grandchildren, Brooke Jacobs, Blake Jacobs and Jaden Yonker Jacobs. He also leaves behind his brother, Harold 'Buck' Jacobs; sisters-in-law, Sandra Jacobs and Debbie McKenzie; brothers-in-law, Doug McKenzie and wife, Peg, and Buddy McKenzie and wife, LuAnn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, especially Brother Ed, who have helped in many ways. In the name of God. Amen.
I, Daniel Biggs, of the State of North Carolina and County of Martin, being
in my perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this to be my last will
and testament.
First of all, I desire to commit my soul to God and my body to be buried in
a Christian-like manner.
As for the things of this life which it has pleased God to bless me with, I
dispose of them in the following manner, viz:
Item, I give unto my son Martin Biggs the following tract of land,
beginning at the mouth of a small branch in the mill pond, running up the
branch to a pine, thence rather east to a (line?) a corner (sic), thence a
straight line to DAVID Gurganus'* line, thence along DAVID GURGANIS' line
to Turkey Swamp, thence down the swamp to the beginning. Also one year-old
colt.
Item, I give unto my son MALOTHA B. Biggs the following tract of land,
beginning at a new made corner in the Adkin Branch, thence (along?) the
branch to the fork, thence up the right hand fork to DENNIS PEAL's line,
thence along DENNIS PEAL'S line to DAVID GURGANIS' line, thence along DAVID
GURGANIS' line to a new made corner, thence along a new made line to the
beginning. Also one grey horse.
Item, I give unto my daughter ANNA GURGANIS one cow, one bed and and
furniture.
Item, I give unto my daughter SINDA** Biggs one bed and furniture.
I lend unto my beloved wife all within doors and without that has not been
mentioned, [during] her lifetime or widowhood, and at her death or on
marriage to be sold and equally divided between my three small children,
HARVEY, BRIANT and NANCY Biggs.
It is my desire and wish for HARVEY and BRIANT to (heir?) all the residue
of my land that I have not mentioned.
Lastly, it is my desire and wish that brother Joseph D. Biggs to be my
executor. April the 17th, 1834.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Faulkner; and a sister, Darlene Ricewick. A United States Army Veteran, Shorty retired as a Car Parts Specialist for several area auto parts stores. He was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams. Shorty is survived by his brother, Steven Faulkner and wife, Donna, LaVale; his sisters, Carolyn Y. Hardman and husband, Earl, Ellerslie; his sister-in-law, Betty Klahre, Hyndman, Pa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. William "Bill" Lester Blank, Jr., 83, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born March 29, 1934, in Mount Savage, Mr. Blank was the son of the late William Lester Blank Sr., and Lillian Viola (Michaels) Blank. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Forrest Long. A graduate of Beall High School, Class of 1953, Bill was a United States Army Veteran from 1954-1957, where he was a Specialist Third Class and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany, in the First Division. In 1957, Bill began working for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company as a glasscutter and retired in 1990. He was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish and the Cumberland Outdoor Club. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending his grandsons sporting events. He was also a very devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Tyree) Blank; his son, Daniel Blank and wife, Cynthia, Mount Savage; and his daughter, Cathy (Blank) Long, Rancho Murieta, Calif. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brandon Blank and wife, Mindy, Frostburg, and Austin Blank, Mount Savage; and his great grandson, Maxton Blank. Bill also leaves behind his sisters, Margaret "Betty" Mulligan, Mount Savage, and Judith "Judy" Burford, LaVale; a special friend, Hank; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by five sons: Roy, Harry, and Ira, of Avilton; Julius and Patrick, both of Frostburg; Miss Alberta Garlitz, Avilton; Mrs. Mildred Tipton and Mrs. Beulah Hetz, both of Lonaconing; Mrs. Alma Durst, Washington; and Misses Shirley and Freda Garlitz, at home, and eleven grandchildren. Born November 27, 1923, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Bishop) Winebrenner. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner was a press operator for the former Harbison-Walker Refractories and a U.S. Army veteran of WW2. He was a member of Farrady American Legion Post 24, Frostburg and V.F.W., Mt. Savage, MD. William and Margaret Cooper of Coleshill, Hertfordshire, England came
over to America in 1678 and settled at first within the town bounds of Burlington, New Jersey but afterwards removed to a place called Pyne Point, now called Coopers Point.
They were Friends and were members of Upperside Monthly Meeting in Hertfordshire, England. They seem to have come to this country on account of religious persecution. He was a preacher of much eminence and in the new country became a man of mark and had much to do with the prosperity of the colony. The certificate of removal issued by the meeting in England to which he and his family belonged has been preserved and is as follows:
Whereas Wm Cooper of Coleshill in ye parish of Amersham of ye County of Hertfordshire have signified unto us that he hath an intention if the Lord permit to transplant himself with his wife and children into ye plantation of New West Jersey and hath desired a testimonial from this meeting for ye satisfaction of Friends there and elsewhere unto whom he may be outwardly unknown. We therefore whose names are underwritten do certify all whom it may concern that the said Wm Cooper and Margaret his wife having lived in these parts for many years ever since ye first of their convincement have walked conscientiously honestly amongst us agreeably to ye profession and testimony of trust according to ye best of our observation and knowledge of them. In witness thereof we have herewith set our hands this fifth day of ye twelfth month 1678.

Notes found in a family journal on Robert Harris, William Dale Harris' father: "Family moved to Lovetts Creek community after his father died (disappeared). Robert was killed on the river at Dixie Landing. It was getting night and the river had risen. He went to the bank in a small boat to tie up for the night. He threw (a) rope around a tree and missed catching it. The knot hit (him) in the head, knocking him in the river where he drowned. They carried his body home by oxen and wagon. He was buried in the Dumas Cemetery. A headstone was not found."
Notes found in a family journal on Sarah Ann (Hayles) Harris Sager, William Dale Harris' mother: "After Sarah's husband, Robert and mother-in-law, Lavicey died, Sarah married her step father-in-law, William Sager.
William Dales Harris' father, Robert Harris was the son of John Harris and Lavicey (Hayles) Harris Sager, married in 1825. According to a family journal, "John Harris was born in England. He landed in North Carolina when he came to this country. One day he walked away from his home, without telling anyone. He was never to be seen or heard from again. William attended Trinity Assembly of God, Midlothian. Mr. Brode enjoyed professional baseball games, coin collecting, yard sales, hunting, working on cars, and trucks. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Beulah (Finzel) Brode; four children, Joy Brode of Cumberland, William E. William Ellis MCKENZIE (Leo W.-2, Isadore J.-1) was born on 19 Sep 1895 in Gilmore, Allegany Co., Maryland. He died on 24 Jun 1939 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Funeral services for William McKenzie, 44, Cresaptown, who died Saturday night at Allegany Hospital, were conducted this morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland. Rev. Elmer T. Fisher, pastor, was celebrant of the requiem mass. Interment was in Belvadere cemetery. A son of Leo McKenzie, Gilmore, he was a World War veteran, serving in the Machine Gun Corps of the Fifth Division. He saw service in many of the important battles of the war, including the Argonne, St. Mihiel and the St. Die sector and was one of the fifty thousand soldiers remaining in Germany for eleven months after the Armistice to guard the Rhine. His brother, James McKenzie, died in France from drowning. Mr. McKenzie was gassed and had been a patient in the Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, on numerous occasions. Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Grabenstein, of Cresaptown, a patient in a Baltimore hospital, and the following brothers and sisters: Bernard, Cleveland, O.; Joseph, Robert, Mrs. Charles Beeman, and Miss Agnes McKenzie, Gilmore.
