    LAVALE – Patricia Ann “Pat” Proud, 83, of LaVale, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Hearthstone Nursing and Rehab. Born November 17, 1937, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (McKenzie) Miltenberger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Miltenberger; sister-in-law, Barbara Miltenberger. Pat was a 1955 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Church, as well as St. Ambrose Church. She was also an active member of the LaVale Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary. Pat cared deeply about the mission of March of Dimes and regularly wrapped her legs in ace bandages to go door-to-door, up and down hills, to collect donations. When she wasn’t volunteering her time, Pat loved to play bingo and bake. She made the most amazing cakes, pies, brownies, and even rice pudding that her family and friends will certainly miss. As a dedicated homemaker, she also enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. Pat leaves behind her husband, Jerry Francis Proud, LaVale; children, Brenda Cox, Hanover, PA, Robin Cosner, Frostburg, MD, and Jeff Proud and wife, Tracy, Keyser, WV; grandchildren, Shauna Proud, Brittney Cosner, Dakota Proud and wife, Samantha, and Logan Proud; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 6-8pm. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 10am. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 9-9:45am. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.     LAVALE — Margaret E. Miltenberger, 83, of LaVale, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Feb. 13, 1913 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Milnor and Frances (Maloney) McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent D. Miltenberger in 1977 and a grandson, Dennis Miltenberger in 1984. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Miltenberger was a homemaker. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; Secular Order of Franciscan; member of the Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild of the church; member of the Ursuline Associates and a member of the LaVale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia A. Proud and husband Jerry of LaVale; one son, Robert V. Miltenberger and wife Barbara of Short Gap, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Robin Cosner and husband Bryan of Frostburg, Brenda M. Cox and husband Donald of New Oxford, Pa., Jeffery S. Proud and wife Tracy of Rawlings, and Joel Edward Miltenberger and wife Katherine of Bridgeport, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren, Shauna Lynn Proud, Brittany Rae Cosner, Dakota James Proud and Sami Jo Miltenberger.     Milnor J. McKenzie, 89, of 513 B Street, LaVale, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital, where he had been a patient four weeks. A native of Cumberland, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Atkins) McKenzie and was the husband of the late Frances M. (Maloney) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a retired street car repairman for the Potomac Edison Company. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Potomac Edison Quarter Century Club. Surviving are three sons, Robert M. McKenzie, Cresaptown; George F. McKenzie, Buena Park, Calif.; and Daniel P. McKenzie Sr., LaVale; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret E. Miltenberger, LaVale; and Mrs. Catherine H. Koontz, with whom he resided; 19 grandchildren and 49 great-grand children. The body is at the Stein Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery.     Mrs. Frances M. McKenzie, 69, wife of Milnor J. McKenzie, 132 Hanover street, died suddenly in Allegany Hospital last night. She became ill at 2 a.m. yesterday and was admitted to the hospital seven hours later. A native of Romney, W. Va., Mrs. McKenzie was a daughter of the late W. H. and Margaret Maloney. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Robert M., G. Frank, J. William, and Daniel P.
