    LONACONING — Edward Kenneth McAlpine, 71, of 15570 Lower Georges Creek Road, S.W., Lonaconing, died Feb. 15, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born June 7, 1927, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late Alexander Bell McAlpine and Anna Marie (Hausrath) McAlpine. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George McAlpine; and one sister, Lib Penner. He retired June 20, 1989, from Pittsburgh Plate Glass with 33 years’ service. Mr. McAlpine was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of John J. Devlin Post #169 American Legion, Midland, and Midland Sportsmen’s Club. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie (Spiker) McAlpine; four children, Lee Ann Foote, Lonaconing, Gail L. Kenner and husband, Ed, Midland, John E. McAlpine, Bedford, Pa., Mary L. Pinder and husband, Will, Lonaconing; three sisters, Annabelle Neilson, Frostburg, Mary Blanc, Cleveland, Ohio, Carolyn Stafford, Lonaconing; three brothers, James McAlpine, Baltimore, Charles McAlpine, Colonial Heights, Va., and Alex “Cue-Ball” McAlpine, Lonaconing; four grandchildren, Melanie Foote, Chelsea Foote, Justin Kenner and Carson Kenner; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, PA., Lonaconing, Wednesday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wilbur Pinder officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.     FROSTBURG — Rose Marie McAlpine, 80, of Frostburg Heights, died Friday, June 5, 2020, at her residence. Born on March 23, 1940, in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Henry L. Spiker and Blanche G. (McKenzie) Spiker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward K. McAlpine, on Feb. 15, 1999; and her siblings, Henry S. Spiker, Joseph R. Spiker and wife, Doris, and Eileen Oester and husband, Edgar 'Dick'. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Rose Marie was a member of Divine Mercy Parish/St. Joseph Catholic Church, Midland, where she was part of the sodality. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Lonaconing and Midland, where she was born and raised. She made many friends while living in Frostburg Heights. She is survived by her children, three daughters, Lee Ann McAlpine and Dave Folk of Shaft, Gail L. Kenner and husband, Ed, of Midland, and Mary L. Pinder and husband, Will, of Cresaptown; son, John E. McAlpine and Kelly Taylor, of Bedford, Pa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Melanie Ullery and husband, Nathaniel, Chelsea Bosley and husband, Rick, Justin Kenner and husband, Chris Archambault, Carson Kenner, and Blake Pinder; great-grandchildren, Karra and Raiden Ullery; and a large extended family. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, June 9, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilhelm- Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., 19814 Big Lane, Midland. Mrs. Spiker was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, the Sodality of St. Joseph's and the Senior Citizens of Georges Creek. Surviving are two sons, Henry S. Oster, Salisbury, Pa., and Rose Marie McAlpine, Knapps Meadow; one sister, Pearl Garlitz, Sam Crowe Road, Lonaconing; and 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. At Mrs. Spiker's request, her body will be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, on Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at 9 a.m. with the Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland. Arrangements are being handled by the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, P.O.
