Samuel Louis Lease, 70, of Lillian Drive, Glen Oaks, Cresaptown, died today at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he was admitted yesterday. He had been in ill health two years. Born May 23, 1905 at Cresaptown, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Arzella (Lease) Lease. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was a retired employe of the Allegany County Roads Department. Surviving are his widow, Anna M. (McKenzie) Lease; two daughters, Miss Marie Lease, at home, and Mrs. Eva J. Goldsworthy, Fairgo; two sons, James L. Lease, Lillian Drive, and Samuel E. Lease, Short Gap; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Rappold, Baltimore; Mrs. Evelyn Poland, Arnold, Md., and Mrs. Matilda Jackson, Alexandria; four brothers, Harry Lease, Cresaptown; Marshall Lease, Summersville, W.Va.; Jesse L. Lease, Brant Road, Cresaptown, and Emmanuel Lease, Cresaptown, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Anna Mary Lease, 80, of Lillian Drive, Cresaptown, died Saturday at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Cresaptown Dec. 1, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Albert James McKenzie and Alice Marie (Robison) McKenzie Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Lease, in 1976. Mrs. Lease was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, James L. Lease, Cresaptown; and Samuel E. Lease, Short Gap, W.Va.; two daughters, Marie A. Lease, Cresaptown; and Mrs. Eva Jean Goldsworthy, Cumberland; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Lease and Theresa McKenzie, both of Cresaptown; and Mrs. Margaret Clayton, Riverdale; two brothers, Thomas McKenzie and Clarence McKenzie, both of Cresaptown; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, Cumberland, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Francis Roscetti. Mrs. Alice M. Clayton, 87, of Winchester Road, Cresaptown, died today in Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Mary Alice (Sinnett) Robison. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert J. McKenzie. and her second husband, Brooks H. Clayton. Mrs. Clayton was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Samuel Lease, Cresaptown: Mrs. Thornton Lease, Cresaptown; Mrs. George Clayton, Riverdale, and Theresa McKenzie, at home; three sons, Thomas E. Kenzie, Clarence M. Mckenzie and William G. McKenzie, of Cresaptown; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Kaylor, Paw Paw, W.Va.; 31 grandchildren, 43 great-grandehildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a number of nieces nephews. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. This Will was, on the 2nd day of January 1897, file and sworn to as to custody by Jacob A. McKenzie, one of the legatees named therein, who received the same from the hands of the Testator at the time of the signing and sealing thereof, and on the said 2nd day of January 1897, was proven by John W. Shook and John W. Dunn, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto.
And on the 12th day of January 1897, the said will was proven by Chas. L. Cunningham, one of the witnesses to same and it was exhibited for probate and record, and no objections thereto having been filed nor any caveat entered, the said will was on this 12th day of January 1897, admitted to probate and record.

He is survived by four sons, Solomon, Patterson’s Creek; Arthur, Frostburg, and John F and Charles W this city and three daughters, Miss Mary Robinson, at home; Mrs Alice McKenzie and Mrs. Sarah Kaylor, of Cresaptown, Mrs. A Robinson, daughter-in-law, of Eckhart.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9am with services at S. Ambrose’s Church, Cresaptown. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
