FROSTBURG — Frank T. Crowe, 92, went to be home with the Lord and his wife of sixty years, Mary E. (Winebrenner) Crowe on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at The Goodwill Mennonite Home in Grantsville, surrounded by his children. He was born on April 23, 1920, in Meyersdale, Pa., and was the son of the late Roy Edward Crowe and Clara (Wolf) Crowe. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Raymond, Fred, Willard, Karl, Woodrow, Harold and Delford and one sister, Hilda Sturtz. Mr. Crowe was a veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific. He retired from Diehl’s Ford after thirty years of service as a Service Manager and Mechanic and after retirement, he worked at the Yoder Locker plant as a mechanic. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Meyersdale, Pa. Frank is survived by four sons, Paul Crowe and wife Karen, of Finksburg, Ivan Crowe and wife Nancy, of Barton, Tim Crowe, of Morgantown and Kevin Crowe and wife Candy, of Frostburg; five daughters, Jane Unger and husband Paul, of Sykesville, Eileen McLaughlin and husband John, of Meyersdale, Pa., Wilma Jones and husband Steve, of Berthol, Colo., Ethel Lentsch and husband Terry, of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Juanita Keeney and husband David, of Charlestown, W.Va.; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Herbert Crowe and wife Anna and Archie Crowe and wife Geraldine and one sister, Ruth Stanton. Friends will be received at the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home, 58 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Hawk officiating and a son-in-law, Pastor David Keeney assisting. Frank’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors being accorded by Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard. March 11, 2002, Cumberland Times-News - FINZEL — Mary E. Crowe, 78, of Finzel, died on Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born on July 30, 1923, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Emma (Merrbach) Winebrenner. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Jones. Mrs. Crowe attended the Grace Brethren Church in Meyersdale, Pa., and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Frank Crowe; nine children, Jane Unger and husband Paul, Sykesville, Eileen McLaughlin and husband John, Meyersdale, Pa., Wilma Jones and husband Steve, Berthoud, Colo., Ethel Lentsch and husband Terry, Colorado Springs, Colo., Paul Crowe and wife Karen, Finksburg, Ivan Crowe and wife Nancy, Barton, Juanita Keeney and husband David, Charleston, W.Va., Tim Crowe, Morgantown, W.Va., and Kevin Crowe and wife Candy, Finzel; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pansy Myers and Helen Teets, both of Frostburg. Friends will be received in the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home, 58 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Haulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Methodist Church (Johnson) Cemetery. FROSTBURG — Harvey Winebrenner, 84, of Big Savage Mountain, died yesterday at Frostburg Community Hospital. He had been ill six months. Mr. Winebrenner was born in Garrett County, a son of' the late Enoch and Elizabeth (Clark) Winebrenner. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of Army service in World War I, and was a member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Survivors include his widow, Emma (Merrbach) Winebrenner; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Crowe, Finzel; Mrs. Pansy Myers, Long Stretch; Mrs. Helen Teets, Big Savage Mountain; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Frank Johnson officiating.
