MEYERSDALE — Harrison F. Hetz, 53, of here, died Sunday in Baltimore. Born April 3, 1920 at Salisbury, he was the son of Melvin Hetz, Meyersdale, and the late Alice (Winebrenner) Hetz. Besides his father, he is also survived by his widow, Arlene (Hoover) Hetz; five sons, Glenn Hetz, Salisbury; Harrison F. Hetz, Jr., Meyersdale, and Karl, William and Duane Hetz, all at home; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Sanner, Garrett; Mrs. Doretta Fazenbaker, RD 3, Meyersdale; Mrs. Glenn Mast, Grantsville; Mrs. Victor Ludy, Waterford, Pa., and Miss Darlene Hetz, at home; six brothers, Raymond Hetz, Cleveland, Ohio; Kenneth Hetz, Johnstown, and Charles, Melvin, Marshall and Marvin Hetz, all of here; three sisters, Mrs. John Sager, Cleveland; Mrs. Merle Murray, Garrett, and Mrs. William Krause, Meyersdale, and 15 grandchildren. The body is in the Konhaus Funeral Home where friends will be received today. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home by Rev. Robert Burns. M. Arlean Hetz, 80, of Meyersdale, died Dec. 22, 2000 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born June 30, 1920 in Bando, a daughter of the late Isiah and Tillie Ann (Berg) Hoover. Also preceded in death by her husband, Harrison F. Hetz Sr. and a brother Cloyd Hoover Sr. Survived by these children, Frances Sanner, Garrett; Doretta Fazenbaker, Meyersdale; Edna Mast, Grantsville, Md.; Harrison "Cork" Hetz Jr., Garrett; Glen "Skip" Hetz, Garrett; Carol Ludy, Meyersdale; Darlean Hetz, Meyersdale; Carl "Pomp" Hetz, Plymouth, Fla.; William "Biff" Hetz, Meyersdale and Duane Hetz, Friedens. Melvin F. Hetz, 82, of Meyersdale RD 1 died August 19, 1978 at his home. Born September 24, 1895 in Frostburg RD, he was a son of the late William and Margaret (Wilhelm) Hetz. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice Winebrenner. He is survived by these children: Charles Melvin Jr., Marshall, Marvin and Mrs. Dorothy Krause, all of Meyersdale RD 1; Raymond, Cleveland, Ohio; Kenneth, Johnstown; Mrs. Margaret Sagar, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Mary Murray, Garrett RD 1; 39 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. A brother of Mrs. Agnes Bowers of Carlisle, he was a prominent area farmer and a veteran of WW I. Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ray Davis, officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. Mrs. Margaret Hetz

Lonaconing – Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Hetz, 89, died yesterday at the home of her son, Thomas Hetz, RD 1, Lonaconing. A native of Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Ellen (McKenzie) Wilhelm. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Avilton. Surviving are one other son, Melvin Hetz, Meyersdale; a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Bower, Frostburg; two brothers, Benjamin Wilhelm, Cutler City, Ore. And James Wilhelm, Frostburg and 24 grandchildren. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times, Thursday, July 2, 1959.

Frostburg, December 29 - James Winebrenner, 75, of Long Stretch, Garrett county, west of Frostburg, died last night at Miners' Hospital here after being admitted earlier in the evening. He was a retired farmer and had been in ill health for a long period. Mr. Winebrenner was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist church, Garrett county. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, eight sons and three daughters: Howard, James, Roy, Harry, Clayton, Grant, Francis, and Leonard Winebrenner, Mrs. Alice Hetz, Mrs. Myrtle Wade, and Miss Nellie Winebrenner, all residents of this section. Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p. m. at the home, with the Rev. Raymond Crowe, pastor of Midland circuit, officiating, interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery, Garrett county. James Winebrenner, 75, retired farmer of Garrett County, Maryland on Route 1, Salisbury, died at his home at 12:20 p.m., on Saturday, December 29, of a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for some time, and when he contracted the flu the same week, lived but a few days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, and eight sons and three daughters - Howard, James, Roy, Harry, Clayton, Francis and Leonard, and Mrs. Alice Hetz, Mrs. Myrtle Wade and Nellie, all residing nearby in Garrett County. Funeral services were conducted at his home at 2:30 p.m., on Monday, December 31, with the Rev. Ray Crowe, pastor of the Midland, Md., Methodist Church officiating. Interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Garrett County in charge of Durst & Son, Frostburg undertakers. Meyersdale Republican, January 3, 1946

FROSTBURG, April 1 — Services for Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, who died Tuesday in Miners Hospital, were held from her home on Long Stretch yesterday. Rev. Raymond Crowe, pastor of the Midland Methodist Circuit. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Long Stretch.
