FROSTBURG — Mrs. Kathleen P. McKenzie, 42, of Vale Summit, was dead on arrival yesterday at Miners Hospital. Born in Carlos, she was a daughter of Mrs. Viola (Crowe) Walters and the late John Walters. Her first husband, Robert Sperry, preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Samuel McKenzie; a son, Larry J. Sperry, Washington; a daughter, Mrs. Rhonda K. Miller, Corriganville; five sisters, Mrs. Jacquelyn Higgins, Vale Summit; Mrs. Emma Duckworth, Loartown; Mrs. Elmira Drew, Frostburg; Mrs. Barbara Huzinec, Furnace Acres, and Miss Deborah Walters, Carlos; a brother, Joseph Walters, Baltimore, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received from 7 until 9 p:m. today and from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. The Cumberland News, February 15, 1971.

FROSTBURG — John Walters, 62, of Carlos, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. He was a native of Gilmore, a son of the late Mose and Emma (Coeman) Walters and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and an employe of the Celanese Fibers Corporation. Surviving are his widow, C. Viola (Crowe) Walters; one son, Joseph Walters, Baltimore; seven daughters, Mrs. Phyllis McKenzie and Mrs. Jacqueline Higgins, Vale Summit; Mrs. Emma Duckworth, Loartown; Mrs. Barbara Huzinec, Furnace Acres; Mrs. Elmira Drew, Frostburg, and Miss Deborah Ann Walters, at home; one sister, Mrs. Julia Jones, Lonaconing; two brothers, Mose Walters, Tallmadge, Ohio, and Thomas Walters, Lonaconing; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church. A native of Carlos, she was a daughter of Ihe late Winfield and Myrtle (Garland) Crowe, and was the widow of John Walters, who died in 1969. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. FROSTBURG - Winfield H. Crowe, 82, died yesterday at the Cuppett Nursing Home, Oakland. Born in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Mary Ellen (Chaney) Crowe. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving are seven daughters: Mrs. Mary Ada Simpson, Mrs. Matilda Bartlett, and Mrs. Viola Walters, all of Carlos; Mrs. Grace Lamp, Cresaptown; Mrs. Ethe! Mae Condon, Silver Spring; Mrs. Frances Bostjancic of New Jersey, and Miss Olive Crowe, Sykesville, and one brother, Walter Crowe, Cumberland, and 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home here, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Frostburg - Mrs. Mary Crowe, 71, wife of Winfield Crowe, Carlos, died Friday night in Miners Hospital where she had been a patient ten days. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Garlitz of Avilton. Mrs. Crowe was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving besides her husband are seven daughters, Mrs. Ada Simpson, Mrs. Matilda Bartlett, Mrs. Viola Walters, all of Carlos; Mrs. Grace Lamp, Cresaptown; Mrs. Ethel M. Condon, Silver Spring; Miss Olive Crowe, Baltimore; and Mrs. Frances Bosjancic, Youngstown, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Melvin McKenzie and Mrs. Bess Miller, both of Lonaconing; Miss Delia Garlitz, Cumberland; and Mrs. Ethel McKenzie, Avilton; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
