First degree murder charges will be placed against the estranged husband of a former local woman by Trumbull County, Ohio, who allegedly shot his wife fatally Monday night and drove her around in a car 24 hours before giving himself up. Charged with murder is Dean Mick, 29, of Lake Milton, Ohio. The victim was Mrs. Patricia Brooks Mick, 29, of Lake Milton, Ohio, the mother of two young boys, Leon, 10, and Larry, 13. She was the daughter of Mrs. Pearl (Crowe) Brooks, Lake Milton, who lived in LaVale and Cumberland for many years before moving to Ohio. Services for Mrs. Mick will be held today at 3 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown, Ohio, with interment near there. Dr. Robert Barnett, Trumbull County sheriff, said Mick stopped Tuesday night at a barbershop in Mahoning County, Ohio, which is near the Trumbull County line, and told the barber his wife's body was in his car and that he had two bullet wounds. As the incident occurred in Trumbull County, Dr. Barnett was called, and Mick and his dead wife were taken to Youngstown, Ohio, hospital where she was pronounced dead, and he was given emergency treatment and admitted. Mrs. Mick had been reported missing Monday night when she did not come home from work at the Packard Electric Division of General Motors in Warren. Mick told authorities he picked her up after work and drove to a secluded spot and attempted to talk her into a reconciliation. The couple was estranged and she had filed suit for a divorce. A legal paper setting a hearing for December 16 in Domestic Relations Court in Warren was found by the sheriff in Mick's car. The sheriff said Mrs. Mick was shot four times, with a .22 calibre automatic weapon; once in the head and three times in the chest and abdomen. The victim was born in Prince Frederick, Md. Between the ages of five and ten years the family resided on Independence Street. She and her mother, children and sister, Trudy, and brother, William D. Moomau, all of Lake Milton, moved there 13 years ago. Besides them, she is survived by her father, James Brooks, of St. Albans, W. Va. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 2, 1966

He was buried on 5 Mar 1963 in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. Services for Isaac Walter Crowe, 89, of 528 North Mechanic Street, who died Friday at the Allegany County Infirmary, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Long Stretch, Garrett County. Rev. Emory McGraw will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Minnie Viola (Robeson) Crowe, 71, wife of Isaac Walter Crowe, LaVale, died last night in Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. A native of Avilton, Garrett county, Mrs. Crowe was a daughter of the late Jesse I. and Elmira Wilhelm Robinson. She was a member of Cherry Grove Brethren church, Avilton. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Wilmer D. Crowe, at home; Earl S. Crowe, LaVale; Hilleary Michaels, Detroit, Mich.; five daughters, Mrs. Leda Krausz, Cumberland; Mrs. May Biller, Cumberland; Mrs. Pearl Brooks, St. Leonards, Md.; Mrs. Jessie Evans, LaVale; Miss Datha P. Crowe, at home; one brother, George Robinson, Cumberland; three sisters, Mrs. Burman Lancaster, Finzel; Mrs. Cora Broadwater, Baltimore pike; Mrs. Pearl Groves, Grostburg; 12 grandchildren, including Pvt.
