    FROSTBURG — Vincent A. Diggs, 85, of Frostburg, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center. Born April 7, 1924, in Cumberland, Vincent was the son of the late Vincent Ambrose Diggs and Clara Regina (Alkire) Diggs. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Diggs and James Diggs. Mr. Diggs was retired from the Allegany County Roads Dept. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. Vincent attended Saint Michael’s Catholic Church and Farrady Post 24 American Legion, both of Frostburg, and the V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Idella May (Harper) Diggs; six children, Daniel Vincent Diggs and wife Margaret, of Loudon, Tenn., Steven Andrew Diggs and fiancée Lisa Rattenni, of Frostburg, Bonnie Ann (Diggs) Miller and husband James, of Greencastle, Pa., Wanda Lee (Diggs) Smith and husband Rodney, of Frostburg, Timothy Michael Diggs and wife Jody, of Frostburg, and Mark Anthony Diggs and wife Marlene, of Ridgeley, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, Michael Diggs, Steven Diggs Jr., Samuel Diggs, Karrie Miller, Heather Smith, Troy Smith, Tara McKinley, Sondra Diggs and Alison Diggs; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Margaret (Diggs) Snyder, Lillian (Diggs) Fuller, Joan (Diggs) Kyler and Carol (Diggs) Rossilli. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.     Lonaconing - Mrs. Gertrude M. Harper, 72, of Harpersville, near Gilmore, died yesterday in Miners Hospital, Frostburg. A native of Pekin, she was a daughter of the late George and Clara (Crowe) Jackson. Her husband, William Harper, preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Kight, National, and Mrs. Virginia Diggs, Harpersville; a son, Kenneth Harper, Cresaptown, and a sister, Mrs. Francis Himmelwright, Cumberland; a brother, Edward Jackson, Pekin; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. by Rev. Louis Emerick.
