FROSTBURG - Henry P. Michael, 69, died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, yesterday. Born at Frostburg, he was the son of the lale Ernest and Sarah '(Lewellyn) Michael. He was a member of Local 26 United Rubber Workers of America and had been employed by The Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beulah (Crowe) Michael; one son, Harry Michael, Grantsville; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Millar, Accident; four brothers, Walter Michael, Amherst, Ohio; David Michael, Takoma Park; Stewart Michael, Cumberland; Charles Michael, Essex; four sisters. Mrs. Mary Wampler, Vale Summit; Mrs. Lily McKenzie, here; Mrs. Lottie Broadwater, Lillian, Ala.; Wilda Minick, Star Route, here, and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Q. Michael – Ernest Quinton Michael, 73, a retired farmer, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gladstone Broadwater, Baltimore Pike, where he resided the past two years. A native of Avilton, Garrett County, he was a son of the late William and Eliza (Reckner) Michael. His wife, the late Maggie Sarah (Llewellyn) Michael, died September 29, 1948. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Broadwater; Mrs. Mary Wampler and Mrs. Lillie McKenzie, Frostburg; Mrs. Wilda Minnich, Avilton; six sons, Henry P. Michael, Frostburg; Walter O. Michael, Lorrain, Ohio; David O. Michael, Vernon L. Michael, Takoma Park; Charles H. Michael, Baltimore; and Stewart W. Michael, city; a brother, Forrest Michael, Frostburg; and 16 grandchildren. She was born near Gilmore, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McKenzie) Llewellyn. Besides her husband, she is survived by six sons, Henry Michael, Avilton, Walter Michael, Charles Michael and Stewart Michael, all of Cumberland, David Michael, Washington, D.C., and Vernon Michael with the U.S. Army in Virginia; four daughters, Mrs. Lillie McKenzie, Frostburg; Mrs. Lottie Broadwater, Cumberland; Mrs. Mary Wampler, Avilton; and Mrs. Wilda Minnick, Finzel; two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Hickman, Leroy, W. Va.; and Mrs. Lilly Grindle, Lonaconing; a brother, Walter Llewellyn, Romney, W. Va., and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday from the Mt. Crowe, retired farmer, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Michael, Avilton, where he had been ill for the past six weeks. Mr. Crowe was the son of the late Henry and Harriet Durst Crowe and a native of Garrett county. Surviving besides Mrs. Michael, are another daughter, Mrs. Charles Durst, of Long Stretch, and a brother, George Crowe, Avilton. Funeral services will be held at the New Germany Methodist Church tomorrow by the Rev. Virgil R. Gillum. Ellen WARNE (Daniel William-1) was born on 27 Feb 1879 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 1 Jan 1942 in Avilton, Garrett Co., Maryland. Mrs. Ellen Crowe, 62, wife of Robert Crowe, died at her home at Avilton, Md., about 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Jan. 1, after a lingering illness. She was born at Frostburg, Feb. 27, 1879, daughter of Daniel W. and Margaret Warne. Practically all of her life had been spent in this section and for many years she had resided in the Avilton community. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Henry Michael, Grantsville, and Mrs. Ora Durst, Avilton, one grandchild; and five brothers, Salem Y. Warne and Jabez W. Warne, Cleveland, O.; Stanley Warne, Frostburg, Wilbur Warne, Avilton, and Charles Warne, Grantsville. Mrs. Crowe had been a member of the New Germany Methodist Church for 44 years. Funeral services were conducted in the church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. Virgil R. Gillum. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery under the supervision of William Winterberg, Grantsville mortician. Pallbearers were Orville G. Stark, Herman H. Robeson, Otha S. Fike, William B. Garlitz, Raymond Broadwater and E. Q. Michaels. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1942.
