SMITH – Ferne Mae (Howarth), Jenners, died December 9, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Daughter of Frank B. and Agnes (Hoover) Howarth. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 60 years Harry W. Smith on February 21, 2000, infant daughter Cora June, daughter Joyce Elaine Snow and brother Frank Bernard Howarth. Survived by children Frank married to Doris (Bowser) Smith, Somerset; Lois married to David Turner, Somerset and Guy married to Carol (Flowers) Smith, Jenners; son-in-law William Snow, Ft. Myers, FL; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. A graduate of Boswell High School. Former employee of Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell and Bill Brown’s Diner, Jennerstown. A member of Boswell Church of God and ILGWU. She enjoyed collecting cook books and cooking. Viewing from 2-5PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Monday with Rev. Tom Johnson presiding. Frank B. Howarth Sr., 83, 141 Bedford St., Jenners, died July 14, 1982, at Memorial Hospital. Born June 9, 1899, in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of John and Hylie (Winebrenner) Clark. Preceded in death by parents; stepparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howarth; wife, the former Agnes F. Hoover, who died Sept. 23, 1959; granddaughter, Cora June Smith; four brothers, one sister, one half-brother, two half-sisters, and two stepbrothers. Survived by son F. Bernard Jr.; daughter, Ferne, wife of Harry W. Smith, both of Jenners; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was a half-brother of: Earl Eisler, Frostburg RD, Md.; Nellie Canton, La Vale, Md.; Elsie Lotz, Okeechobee, Fla.; stepbrother of: Charles Howarth, Mary Shaulis, and George Howarth, all of Glenn Rock, Pa.; Harold Howarth and Luther Howarth, both of Baltimore, Md.; James Howarth, Somerset RD; and Martha Jane Shaulis, Friedens RD. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club, UMWA Jenner Local 1742, and retired employee of former Consolidated Coal Co., Jenners, and Boswell Lumber Co. FROSTBURG - Mrs. Hylie Eisler, 88, died yesterday at Miners Hospital where she was a patient two days. Born in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Margaret (Crowe) Winebrenner. Her husband, Adam Eisler, preceded her in death. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Berndetta Klink and Mrs. John Lotz, both of here; Mrs. Clifton Caton, Westernport, and Mrs. Anna Crowe, Baltimore; three sons, Frank Hawarth Clark (sic: should be Clark Howarth), Jenners, Pa.; Samuel and Earl Eisler, both of here; 39 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Kenneth E Morelock. Interment will be in the Johnson Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 31, 1962

May 5, 1904 - The funeral of Mrs. Isaac Winebrenner, who died Tuesday (3 May) at her home near Johnson's, a few miles west of Frostburg, after a lingering illness of dropsy, took place this afternoon from the residence. Interment in the cemetery on the Winebrenner farm near Johnson. Mrs. Winebrenner was 66 years old. She is survived by a husband, 6 sons, and one daughter; Messers, Joseph, John, James, Floyd, Samuel and Enoch and Miss Highly, all at home.
