    FROSTBURG — Mrs. Margaret A. Donahue, 53, wife of Joseph M. Donahue, 202 East Main Street, died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, where she was admitted January 24. She had been in failing health for two years. Born in Carlos, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Anna (Winner) Lucas. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Dennis Durst, Rockville; a son, James Donahue, Grantsville; sisters, Mrs. Martha Schulten, here; Mrs. Isabelle Gray, Midland; Mrs. Laura Hitchens, Carlos; and Mrs. Ina Getty, Meyersdale; brothers, Eugene Lucas, Baltimore; George Lucas, here; William Lucas, Cumberland; five grandchildren. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church and interment will be in the church cemetery. Lucas of Frostburg; and Eugene Lucas of Baltimore; five daughters, Mrs. John Hitchins, Carlos; Mrs. Martha Schulten, Frostburg; Mrs. Isabel Gray, Midland; Mrs. Joseph Donahue, Frostburg; and Mrs. O.     Mrs. Anna C. Lucas, 84, widow of William J. Lucas, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. 0. G. Getty, Meyersdale. She had been in failing health two years. Born in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harman Winner. She held membership in Carlos Methodist Church. Surviving, besides Mrs. Getty, are four other daughters, Mrs. John Hitchins, Carlos; Mrs. Martha L. Schulten and Mrs. Joseph Donahue, both of Frostburg, and Mrs. Isabel Gray, Midland; three sons, William J. Lucas, Cumberland; George W. Lucas, Frostburg, and Eugene V. Lucas, Baltimore; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Youngerman and Miss Agnes Winner, both of Rockville, and Mrs. Richard Holland, Enid, Okla., 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow. Services will be conducted Saturday at the funeral home by Rev. Robert C. Current. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Also surviving is a half-sister, Mrs. Gorey McKenzie.     The funeral of Harmon Winner, a resident of this city who was found dead in a mine of the Gleason Coal and Coke Company of Gleason, W. Va., Tuesday afternoon, was held from St. Michael's Catholic Church, Thursday morning with high requiem mass, by the Rev. Francis McGraw, of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Washington, D. C. Burial took place at St. Michael's Cemetery.

    WINNER, Harmon
    Harmon Winner, aged 60, this place, was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a mine of the Gleason Coal and Coke Company at Gleason, WV where he had been working as a laborer. He was discovered by a car driver in a sitting posture with the carbide lamp on his cap still burning. He seemed all right physically when he entered the mine and the cause of death has not yet been determined.
    He is survived by his wife and large family, residing here, and the body will likely be brought home. Mrs. Winner left for Gleason following receipt of the new of her husband's death.

    "Death of an Old Lady-Mrs. Joseph Winner, a widow and one of the oldest ladies of the town, died at her home on Federal Hill of old age and general debility. The deceased was in her seventy-third year and was a very devoted member of the St. Michael's Catholic church which she attended regularly until failing health deprived her of doing so. She is survived by the following children: Harmon Winner, Ross Winner, Edward Winner, Frank Winner and one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Maurey all off this place. The funeral arrangements have not been completed. The Frostburg Furniture Company have charge of the remains." Note: she is not listed in St. Michael's burials but records are missing during this time frame.

    Cousin Carol Vivier says Abraham's first name was Henry, and like so many he went by his middle name. But we have no explanation for the Sarah McIntyre, unless he married two different Sarahs OR perhaps Sarah Barnes had a previous marriage to a McIntyre. I do not know where Carol got the info on Abraham's first name, someone sent that info to her but she didn't remember who. [from Genie Ragan in email April 25, 2009]
