FROSTBURG, Aug. 28(sic) — Word has been received here that Frank O. Smith died last night at his home, 74 Charles Street, Annapolis, following a prolonged illness. His wife was the late Mrs. Margaret (Crowe) Smith, Eckhart. He is survived by three children, Frank O. Jr., Naumana Shawn and June Holten Smith and seven grandchildren. He was a brother-in-law of Fred Crowe, Frostburg, and Clifford Crowe, Eckhart. Services will be held Monday in First Baptist Church, Annapolis. The Cumberland Sunday Times, August 27, 1950

Annapolis, Jan. 30 - Mrs. Margaret Crowe Smith, 46, wife of Frank O. Smith, died at her home here this morning, following an illness of six weeks. A daughter of Mary Ann and the late Frederick Crowe, she was born in Eckhart and left there following her marriage 26 years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church in Annapolis. Survivors besides her mother and husband are three children: Mrs. Roy Shawn, Pennsville, N. J.; Frank O., Jr. and Miss June Smith, at home; three brothers, Frederick Crowe, former mayor of Frostburg, Clifford and Reginald, both of Eckhart; and one sister, Mrs. John Shorder, Danville, Ohio. Eckhart, Md., May 4 - Funeral services for Fred Crowe, who died at his home in Eckhart, Monday morning, following an attack of apoplexy Thursday, were held yesterday afternoon. Rev. J. Wesley Webb, pastor of First Methodist Episcopal Church, was in charge. The pallbearers were Perry Dudley, John Holsinger, Samuel Lewis, George Filsinger, Joseph Rephann, and Thomas Eckhart; flowerbearers, Frank Dean, Henry Rephann, Patrick Drum and Roy Stewart. Mr. Crowe had resided in Eckhart practically all his life. The services were largely attended. Interment was in Eckhart Cemetery. The Cumberland Times, May 4, 1933

Frostburg, Feb. 26 — Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Crowe, 76, mother of former Mayor Frederick Crowe, who died yesterday at Miners Hospital, where she had been a patient seven weeks, will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at the Hafer Funeral Home, where the body remains. The Rev. John Wilson, pastor of the Eckhart Methodist Church, will officiate, and interment will be in the Eckhart cemetery. A native and life resident of Eckhart, Mrs. Crowe was a daughter of the late Hannibal and Elizabeth Pengelly, pioneer residents of Eckhart. Other survivors include two sons, Reginald Crowe, at home; Clifford Crowe, Eckhart; and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ream, Canton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
