Frostburg, Jan. 1 — Word was received here of the death of Herman Kroll, at 1 a. m. Tuesday at his home in Canton, O. Mr. Kroll, a former resident of this city had been in ill health for five years. Prior to his illness, he was employed in the plant of the Hoover Sweeper Company. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Elizabeth Crowe; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Airhart, and a son, Walden Kroll, at home. He was a brother of Conrad, John, George, and Henry Kroll, Mrs. John Lapp, Frostburg, and Mrs. Emma Nevil, Washington, D. C. The funeral will be held Monday from his home with interment in Canton. Eckhart, Md., May 4 - Funeral services for Fred Crowe, who died at his home in Eckhart, Monday morning, following an attack of apoplexy Thursday, were held yesterday afternoon. Rev. J. Wesley Webb, pastor of First Methodist Episcopal Church, was in charge. The pallbearers were Perry Dudley, John Holsinger, Samuel Lewis, George Filsinger, Joseph Rephann, and Thomas Eckhart; flowerbearers, Frank Dean, Henry Rephann, Patrick Drum and Roy Stewart. Mr. Crowe had resided in Eckhart practically all his life. The services were largely attended. Interment was in Eckhart Cemetery. The Cumberland Times, May 4, 1933

Frostburg, Feb. 26 — Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Crowe, 76, mother of former Mayor Frederick Crowe, who died yesterday at Miners Hospital, where she had been a patient seven weeks, will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at the Hafer Funeral Home, where the body remains. The Rev. John Wilson, pastor of the Eckhart Methodist Church, will officiate, and interment will be in the Eckhart cemetery. A native and life resident of Eckhart, Mrs. Crowe was a daughter of the late Hannibal and Elizabeth Pengelly, pioneer residents of Eckhart. Other survivors include two sons, Reginald Crowe, at home; Clifford Crowe, Eckhart; and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ream, Canton, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
