Still under 21 years of age, the mother of two children today filed suit in Circuit Court for a divorce, asking for the custody of an infant daughter and stating she would agree to have her husband retain custody of their son, less than two years old. Mrs. Geraldine B. Nichol, represented by Edward J. Ryan, filed the action in the name of her father and next friend, Alvin Crowe, of Lonaconing, against William M. Nichol, a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad brakeman. She said they were married April 15, 1944, in Lonacoing, and charged him with cruelty. Barton, Md., Dec. 17 - Silas Crowe, 97, a retired farmer of Garrett county, died here Wednesday night at the home of his son, George Crowe. He was a native of Avilton and had resided at Barton seven years. He is survived by three other sons, Robert, Baltimore; Alvin, Lonaconing; and Elmer Crowe, Cumberland; and one daughter, Mrs. Albert Shane, Baltimore; also 28 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. . Mrs. Mary Crowe, 69 years old, wife of Silas Crowe, died last night at Miners Hospital. She had been ill several years. A native of Garrett county, Mrs. Crowe, during the past fifteen years, lived at Eckhart, where her husband was employed by the Consolidation Coal Company. Besides her husband, she is survived by several children: George Crowe, of Barton; William, Walter, Elmer and Albert Crowe, all of Frostburg; John Crowe, of Ocean; and Miss Martha Crowe, of Baltimore. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lane, of Lonaconing, and a brother, Liston Jackson, of Meyersdale, also survive. John Crowe Passes Away

Lonaconing, Md. - John Crowe, one of the oldest residents of Garrett county, died at his home on the Helmen (?) farm in Garrett County at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Mr. Crowe was ill about two months with dropsy. He was in his 86th year, and with the possible exception of the venerable Hugh McMillan, was the oldest man in the county. For many years he made weekly trips to Lonaconing and the weather was never so severe that he could not get into town. He was a farmer by occupation and had lived for more than 40 years where he died. He is survived by four daughters, Misses Helen and Jane and Mesdames Josephine Broadwater and Peter Wilt, the two latter living on Savage, Garrett county. One son, Silas, lives on the home place. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. and interment will be made in Blocher Cemetery. The Evening Times, Cumberland, April 24, 1908
