    Joseph H. Martens, 76, of 1020 Ella Avenue, died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 6, 1908 in Eckhart, he was a son of the late John E. Martens and Mary (Himmelwright) Martens. Mr. Martens was a retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad carman. He was a sergeant major in the Salvation Army and was a member of its Golden Agers organization, the Brotherhood of Railway - Carmen, and the Senior Citizens. His first wife was the late Cleo (Stewart) Martens. Survivors include his widow, the former Gladys Spielman; two sons, Harry Donald McCoy, Miami, Fla.; George R. McCoy, Walla Walla,Wash.; one brother, James Martens, of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kraus, Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Goldie Conner, West Palm Beach, Fla., and seven grandchildren.     MRS. JOSEPH H. MARTENS
    Mrs. Cleo Frances Martens, 64, of 1020 Ella Avenue, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital, where she was taken after falling at her home. Born in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Dawson) Steward. Mrs. Martens was a member of the Salvation Army and Queen City Lodge 143, Loyal Star of America. Also surviving are her husband, Joseph H. Martens; two sons, Donald McCoy, Miami, Fla., and George McCoy, Wolflake, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that memorials be made to the Western Maryland Heart Association. Services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Maj. George Woods and Lt. William Payton of the Salvation Army, will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Memorial Cemetery.     Funeral services for John E. Martens, 53 years old, who died yesterday at his home, 316 Pennsylvania avenue, will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the headquarters of the Salvation Army, of which he was a member. Brigadier General S. W. Sieler, of Baltimore, will be in charge of the services. Mr. Martens is survived by his wife and four children; Joseph, James, Margaret and Goldie Martens. Three brothers and two sisters also survive. Burial will be at Eckhart.

Martens who died Thursday afternoon at his home, 316 Pennsylvania avenue, was conducted at the Salvation Army Citadel, North Mechanic street, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock by local corps officer Captain McDonald and ex-Brigadier General Fred W. Seiler, of Baltimore. The deceased was a member of the local Salvation Army, the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America, No 656, and the Order of Owls, Nest No. 90. His widow and four children, Mrs. Margaret L. House, Goldie, Joseph and James Martens, survive, besides the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Annie Sweitzer, Berlin, Pa.; Mrs. Peter Michaels, Barrelville; Mrs. Edwin Adamson, of Illinois; Mrs. Lawrence Winebrenner, of Mt. Savage; and Mrs. Sara Roberta Getty, of this city; and Henry, Christopher, and William Martens, all of Youngstown, Ohio. Interment was in Eckhart Cemetery.

    Mrs. Mary Catherine Henry, 8O, of 108 Decatur Street, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where she had been a patient three days. She had been iII for 12 years. Born in Mt. Savage, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Rizer) Himmelwright, and was the widow of Clark E. Henry. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Order of Loyal Star, and Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Martin, at home, and Mrs. Margaret House, city; two sons, Joseph Martens, city, and James Martens, Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Florence Pryor, Eckhart; a brother, Francis Himmelwright, city; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The body is at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there Friday at 1 p.m. Rev. Benjamin Bruner will officiate and interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.

Frostburg, Md., August 22 - Mrs. Mary Catherine Martens, nee Himmelwright, of Frostburg, and John William Lewis, of Cumberland, were married here yesterday afternoon at the rectory of St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev.
