Tammy Jane (McGuire) Woodcock, 45, formerly of Frostburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, of breast cancer in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph James McGuire Jr., of Frostburg. Surviving are her husband, Ellis Woodcock; mother, Cecelia Jane Twist, of Fort Lauderdale; one sister, Mary E. Leighty and husband Terry, of Louisville, Ky.; three brothers, Joseph J. McGuire III, of Frostburg; John R. McGuire and wife Tanya, of Ridgeley, W.Va.; and Thomas L. Smith and wife Rhonda, of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Tommi J. McGuire and Melissa Brown, of Jacksonville; one son, Daryle Brown, of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment was in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Nov. 9.

May 30, 2008 - Cumberland Times-News - FROSTBURG - Roberta V. "Bert" McGuire, 93, of Frostburg died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born Dec. 11, 1914 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Flora (Martens) Winebrenner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph James McGuire Sr.; five sisters, Blanch Helmick, Ann Daugherty, Jane Dorman, Marie Caughey and Virginia Wyzynski; two brothers, Lawrence M. Winebrenner and Victor M Winebrenner; a son, Joseph J. McGuire Jr.; and a daughter, Nancy L. Lee . Mrs. McGuire was a member of St. Michaels Church and the Sodality. She received the Medal of Honor from the Archdiocese. She was employed by St. Michaels cafeteria and she was a member of the Frostburg Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter, Rose Mary Llewellyn and husband Gary, Barton; grandchildren, Joseph J. McGuire III, Frostburg, Mary Leighty and husband Terry, Kentucky, Tammy Woodcock, Florida, John McGuire and wife Tonya, West Virginia, Roberta Weaver and husband Ernie, Cumberland and Catherine Yutzy and husband Wayne, Frostburg; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friend, Bertie Lewis and her sister Rose Hobbins; and sister-in-law, Angela McAteer, Frostburg. Friends will be received at Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at St. Michaels Church at 10 a.m. with Father Ty Hullinger as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery.

She was buried on 31 May 2008 in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland.
